![]() The other greyed-out option is 'Ranked Match' - this unlocks after you've acquired enough points/XP in the game, but you can only earn the points/XP when you're playing online, so this is another feature that is permanently locked out to me. The game itself feels nobbled from the moment you turn it on, I don't use Playstation Plus any longer (personally, I found no real value in it and didn't use it enough to warrant paying for the service) - the main 'play' menu has four options, two of the options are greyed out - 'Special Event' and 'Ranked Match', 'Special Event' unlocks periodically and gives you access to various mini-games, (although after this mode eventually unlocked, it transpired that I needed PS Plus membership to use it) I'm now twenty years older and have a wife and kids - my friends live miles away but we can still play games online, this would've been fantastic (earn cars offline/single player mode and then compete with them online on games night) I'm a big fan of MicroMachines V3 (from the PS1 days) and I had *many* hours of fun sharing controllers (or using a multi-tap when around a posh mate's house) - fast forward to a few months ago, I saw a video preview of MM:WS and immediately pre-ordered it.įirstly, as already talked about in other reviews, there's no single player campaign - this was an integral part of V3, you could earn different cars by racing through the championship, you could then "Play for keepsies" against your friends - this was good fun and could've easily been built into MM:WS, it would've added extra layers to the game, allowing single player achievements to carry over into the multiplayer experience. ![]() This could've been brilliant - sadly, it's not. oh yeah here's the Good points:-Graphics-Maybe battle mode (doesn't really interest me).If you want a good racing game watch 'T & P Gamer Brothers' comparison video of this game and Toybox Turbos on YouTube. (Go away Nerf)-Only 10 tracks to race on-No speed boats or choppers-Bland, boring, lifeless and NO FUN!I stop there the list goes on. Sorry its true.Bad points:-No single player-Rubbish, slow sluggish handling/steering-Slow bad camera angles-Next to nothing sound effects i.e skidding crashing bashing-To many hubs on the screen while in play. Very disappointed with this game And no single player come on! sort it out, your better of scrapping it and starting it again. ![]() But no all we get is a unfinished game with very little to give. I was hoping it was going to be good as or even better. I'm a big fan of the old micro machines the 'original' and 'V3'. I pre-ordered this in February excited to play it. Lets start with the good part, I got it 1 day earlier than the release date! YEAH! err no.From now it goes down hill. ![]() Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2017 Utter pants, the original Micro machines is so much better Micro Machines World Series is the ultimate pick-up-and-play experience for players of all ages and abilities, offering intuitive, easy-to-learn controls that make the controller impossible to put down.
